We wanted Astro Turf for the top surface and the engineers for that product told us we must have a concrete base, largely due to the yearly temperature differences in northern Michigan. Mike Martin designed the playground space and poured the concrete. He did this in a timely manner and the resulting surface was absolute perfection.
